Scent doesn’t define you — it reflects where you are

Choosing Your Scent

When it comes to scent, your body already knows what it needs.

This is because of the natural synergy between the chemical compounds found in plants and our own biology. Scent is received through the limbic system — the part of the brain that communicates directly with our emotions, mood, memory, hormones and nervous system.

Another way to view this is by trusting the body over the mind.

Allowing the scent you’re drawn to, to reveal what your body is asking for - We simply need to pause and listen.

  • If you're drawn to earthy, woody oils
Your nervous system may be craving safety, steadiness and grounding

  • If you're drawn to soft florals
You may be seeking comfort, tenderness or emotional healing

  • If you're drawn to fresh citrus or herbs
Your body may be asking for clarity, energy or lightness

  • If you're drawn to resins or deep blends
You may be needing courage, strength or protection as you navigate transition

Applying Your Oils with Intention

Essential oils are a sacred gift of creation, working in harmony with our physical, emotional and hormonal bodies – When applied with intention, their support can amplify.

This simply means:

  • taking a moment to 'pause' before you apply

  • tuning into your own body wisdom to feel what you need

  • exploring the intention behind the oil blend (head to our Shop for oil description)

  • using your sense of smell to connect with the therapeutic benefits of the oil blend

For example, if your nervous system is overstimulated and you reach for a calming blend such as HER, HIM or SLEEP, lean into the comforting and grounding energy of the oils. Imagine their energetic vibration cascading over your entire being and settling into the tender areas of your heart, mind or area of concern.

NICOLE - How Oils Work

How Oils Work

Everything in creation exists to serve a purpose – and everything exists to create balance within a greater design.

The complex nature of plants is no accident. Each plant contains dozens, sometimes hundreds, of chemical compounds, each serving a unique role while working together in synergy to create a specific effect. For example, linalool, a compound found in lavender, is known for its calming influence on both humans and animals.

The delicate yet potent chemistry of plants is beautifully designed to be received by the human body - through our sense of smell and through the skin - offering gentle, therapeutic support for the mind, heart, and physical body.

  • SCENT
When you inhale an essential oil, aromatic molecules travel through the nose and activate receptors that send signals directly to the limbic system - the part of the brain responsible for emotions, mood, memory, stress response, and hormone regulation. This is one of the fastest and most powerful ways essential oils work.

  • SKIN
When properly diluted and applied to the skin, essential oil molecules are absorbed through the epidermis and enter the bloodstream in small amounts. From there, they interact with local tissues and the nervous system, gently influencing emotions, hormones and overall balance.

The natural synergy between plants and humans is not only a scientific wonder - but a profound gift from God.
